The European Commission in its list of recommendations for the use of 5G points out that this is a priority for the Digital Single Market Strategy in order to guarantee that the Union has the necessary connectivity infrastructure for its digital transformation. The list of advantages of an intelligent port is long. In the first place, it allows to offer safety to employees since this type of wireless communication technologies (C-V2X and C-ITS) and intelligent and cooperative transport systems respectively, allow to automate surveillance and decision-making to avoid accidents and speed up logistics tasks. They are also able to view information in their free time to be able to implement solutions in danger zones and install security systems that send acoustic signals in the event of possible collisions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large XcVN5d tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"Traducci\u00f3\"><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">Finally, the existence of drones with the ability to interpret data in real time through big data and artificial intelligence, allows managing goods, making accurate inventories and helping to reinforce compromised areas within port facilities. One of the objectives of APM Terminals Barcelona is to become the safest port, using advanced algorithms in accident traffic prevention and fatigue control through monitoring hosted in the cloud.
