The programme is voluntary and is designed to help transportation companies identify and mitigate cyber risks.<\/p>\n<p>Participants in the programme must meet a number of cyber security requirements, including:<\/p>\n<p>Develop a cyber security plan: Companies must develop a cyber security plan that includes measures to protect their systems and data against cyber attacks.<br \/>\nProtect sensitive data: Companies should protect sensitive information, such as credit card numbers and personal data, from theft or unauthorised exposure.<br \/>\nMonitor and detect incidents: Businesses should monitor their systems to detect incidents and respond quickly to minimise the impact.<br \/>\nTraining: Cybersecurity training is essential so that employees are aware of the risks and know how to protect their systems.<br \/>\nAssessments: Companies should undergo regular assessments to ensure they are complying with programme requirements.<br \/>\nBy complying with these requirements, companies can improve their cyber security and reduce the risk of cyber attacks. Compliance with the C-TPAT programme can also provide them with additional benefits, such as a faster verification process at customs.<\/p>\n<h4>We need more cyber security<\/h4>\n<p>In 2021, there were 40,000 cyber attacks per day in Spain, 125% more than the previous year. 94% of Spanish companies suffered some kind of cyber attack, according to Deloitte. And the transport and logistics sector was no exception. In fact, it was the third most attacked sector globally last year, with incidents that caused great alarm, such as the one that forced the temporary closure of the Colonial Pipeline.
